Live from Utah

Thanks everyone for wishing me well on my trek to the airport. Everything went just fine. We met up with Guapo whose flights were neither delayed nor canceled. The kids traveled like troopers and we arrived in Salt Lake late Friday night.

We are now staying with Guapo's parents, Grandma Sue and Grand-dude who live in Midway. That's right. Grand-dude. He's too cool to be called "grandpa" so he is Grand-dude. It's pretty cute to hear all his grandkids call him that, but I always chuckle when I think of them all grown up talking amongst others about their "grand-dude".

Since June 28 the longest I have slept in one bed, consecutive nights, is 4 nights. I am waking up in the middle of the night trying to figure out where the heck I am. Oh well.

We took care of our primary Utah business yesterday. It's a devious little plan that we have involving our kids.

Every trip, we take them to our alma mater, BYU, and "have fun". We buy them a t-shirt or a sweatshirt and some treats. We are hoping by doing this they will have such fond memories of BYU that there's no way they will even consider going to some other school. For those of you who don't know, BYU.Is.Cheap. With three kids (so far) we need cheap college.

Trip 2006: Mission Accomplished

Well, Guapo and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this month, so we are off to San Francisco tomorrow for a few days without the little ones. Grandma Sue and Grand-dude have graciously offered to take care of Margarita, Julio, and Juan Carlos while we ride cable cars, eat crab (my mouth is watering just typing the word!) and just hang out and relax. I can't wait to sit on the airplane all by myself tomorrow morning and read a book or take a nap!!!

(I am taking my computer, but I'm not sure Guapo will love it if I blog on our anniversary trip. We'll see!)

Happy Anniversay!! Have a super fun time!
Yet another reason to be BOFF, I also love crab (all seafood, except anchovies).

I love your idea about programming the kids to love BYU, excellent plan, which is not devious if it's for a good and blessed cause.

Grandma and Granddude are super awesome (your whole family is).

Uhhh. That would be "cities" with a "c." Guess that's what I get for not attending BYU. :) (But don't interpret that as a regret!)

Happy Anniversary! I hope the two of you have a wonderful time. I'm crazy about San Francisco, but haven't been for a long time. I hope you get a hot fudge sundae @ Ghirardelli square. I LOVE those things.

As for BYU propaganda - You go girl! Papa and I used to take our kids there for fun and all 5 have gone to the Y. In a month the 4 oldest will be graduated and only "you know who" still plugging away. Man writing that just made me realize how old I've let myself get. Wooo!

You should blow that picture up for them and put it next to the front door so that it is BURNED in their minds.

Happy Anniversary!

I'd love to meet up with you when you get back to Utah, let me know if you have any spare time. You're probably thinking spare time on vacation, yeah right. But, if you do let me know.

Paulette: I have to admitt I am pretty worn out myself.

NCS: I had crab twice today (once for me, and once for you)

Hi k-squared's mom, hope you are having fun in the Philipines. Email me!

Naddin, tell your husband I am not a cougar fan, just a fan of cheap higher education

CYM: totally a trip to do without the kids!

Mom of all trades: We saw Scoma's, but after we had already eaten! :( maybe another day.

Ut mommy, I would love to but when we get back we have our family reunion that is all-time-encompassing. I'll let you know if thier is a break in our schedule! :)

I was awaked almost every morning to the BYU fight song and it worked. "Rise and shout the Cougars are out!" I went to BYU and am about as big of a Cougar fan as possible. GO COUGARS!

Have a fabulous time on your anniversary trip. Sounds Heavenly!

I am trying to think of something great for my hubby and I to do for our fifth next year. We've got a few months to figure it out.

Sorry Janice. It's not that I am anti-Cougar, just kind-of apathetic.

Thanks everyone for your well-wishes, we are having a great time!
