Ultrasound News: It's a ______________!!!

Will I be buying this:

Or this?:

The answer is: (drum roll please. . .)

Both.

No, I'm not having twins, thank goodness, it's just that we never find out what we're having (and I'm not crazy about gender-neutral clothes).

Isn't that annoying? I always want other people to find out and then I don't do it. Guapo says it's one of the few surprises you can have in this life. So, we always wait.

With the other three it wasn't that hard for me. Today when we went to the ultrasound, I really wanted to know. First of all, I feel like I should prepare mentally if it's another boy, and more than anything, just for convenience. Clothes are so outrageously priced here and we are going to the States for New Year's, so it would make sense to find out so we could buy the little thing some clothes. I warned Guapo that if we didn't find out, I would have to buy for both. He didn't budge.

The baby is healthy and well from what the doctor could see but appears not to be a very cooperative baby as it wanted to remain in a ball the entire 1 hour ultrasound session making it very difficult for the doctor to take her measurements. She kept making me roll this way and that way and prodding the poor little critter with her instrument to get it to stretch out.

I'm thinking it's another boy because when she had us look away so she could check out the nether-regions it didn't take her too long. But, according to the ancient-Chinese-gender-predictor-calendar, it's a girl. Of course it also claims that Julio (6 years old) should have been a girl, so I'm thinking I can't put too much stock in it.

Hmmmmm. Who knows. 5 more months of wondering and waiting.

I can't believe that you are one of those annoying people who don't find out the sex of the baby! Now, I have to wait another 5 months with you!

You are a strong woman. I just know I would have looked when she said not tooo!!!! I have never been able to not find out, even when I told myself I would wait. Guapo is right, there aren't many true suprises in life.

Isn't it a surprise if you find out now or later???? You just get the surprise a few months earlier...at least that's my philosophy to explain my anxious impatient attitude, lol.

Have fun shopping for both!!

PS: Why is it your blog is the only one my auto-answer thing doesn't help me out by remembering my previous answers? And why is it I can never remember to copy my dumb web page address before visiting so I can just paste it in???

you're such a tease! that's fun, though. I'm all about finding out. I don't think I'd have the strength not to. Of course, I'd probably be saying something completely different if I couldn't.

while I admire Guapo's patience, I would rather take a pregnancy test that already said what gender it is! :)

We found out that the first two were girls, but with the 3rd one, we had an ultrasound very early in the pregnancy so we didn't know what it would be. That was actually very fun because he was a boy and my husband was totally shocked. So the 4th one we decided to wait and find out at birth which was really hard because I had like 4 ultrasounds.

This one I decided I just wanted to be impatient and know so my ultrasound was yesterday and I found out that it is a ...........
(You'll have to visit my blog to see. :))

I do admire you though! I wish I had your will power!

P.S. I can't believe I had my ultrasound on the same day as you. Freaky...............

I had two surprises and it was way more fun. #3 we accidentally found out (long story) and then DH couldn't stand the wait and HAD to know so we did with the last three. It was fun not knowing. Good for you!

Janice J- I can't believe you are back online you crazy woman. For those of you who don't know Janice J-she had a precious little baby girl four days ago!!! She is a sweety with a tuft of blond/white hair. So cute!

My Full Hands: I totally wanted to look, but Guapo was right next to me and would have noticed.

Sketchy: I don't know about my site. Sorry. Bad, bad blogger.

Handiemom: I just checked your site and it doesn't say anything yet!! Come on, give us the goods!

Valerie: I know, I'm a tease! Sorry. :)

Tess: I saw some kind of gender test advertised yesterday while I was looking for old wive's tales on how to know the gender without finding out.

TX mommy: I want to know how you "accidentaly" found out. With #3 we JUST found out that the doctor had told Margarita (4 at the time) and she never said a word to us.

That was a serious teaser to start your blog entry!

I am actually really glad to know that you are waiting. It makes the whole process a little more suspenseful.

We chose not to find out with #6...we have always "known" with the others, and always chose to confirm it by ultrasound too.

When we choose to have another (gulp), it will be a girl. No doubt in my mind about that. Kind of funny, huh?

Anyway, I am very excited for your lack of throw-up, and enjoy shopping for 2 babies!

Was I the only one who thought you were having twins?
Firstborn was a total surprise, I didn't know until he arrived :D

How come you want to prepare yourself in case is another boy?

The clothes are so pricey down there and…how can I say this…ugly?. Sorry, it’s true, and there’s no variety at all. I’m happy for you coming up to shop (Colorado I’m guessing?), hope you find out in time so you can get it the right color and all (yellow baby clothing is just not 'all that').

OHHHHH I have my ob appt. tomorrow. If you are having an ultrasound that means I can have one too!! I can find out soooooooooon!! I have been putting off the figuring out when I can figure out cause it is always so far off.
I am really now re-thinking the whole find out or not thing. We had both genders in the past three years. I am ready for either. Maybe we could keep this one a mystery.

Kritine: I am so jealous that you just "know" I have NO instinct when it comes to the baby growing inside of me. Sad, eh?

BOFF: Hmmm, how can I put this nicely? My boys give me major fits. They are like oil and water and fight constantly. I can't imagine thowing another one into the mix. Scary I tell you.

JD: yep she said she could definitively tell what it was, so I'm sure you could find out.

We are going to UT for New Year's. I have to say, not knowing and going to the hospital is pretty exciting. But, I've never tried it knowing, so maybe it would be exciting anyway.

I agree with Sketchy, its still a surprise. Not sure if I could hold out or not. I may try it some nay now that I have one of each. But it is so nice to be prepared and have the room ready.

ITA with the expensive clothes here. you can buy a nice cute outfit at Pre Na Tal for the low price of $699 pesos.

It does make the birth seem even more special though. so are you done with the morning sickness?? I hope so!

Gabriela you are a tease, all that and you dont even know DARN! I hate waiting. I didnt know either of my pregnancys. Guapo is right and it will def be worth the wait.
Man 5 months to wait... Just enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.

I had the doctor tell me the news during the ultrasound. I was pleasantly suprised each time. I love being able to call the baby by name the last few months of pregnancy--my little way of pre-natal bonding.

I'm impressed by the self-control you non-peekers exhibit.

You are so mean!!!! I always have to know. I was going nuts when Evan was a little stinker and kept his legs crossed. Luckily Harry showed us the full monty early on.

OK sorry -- you have to give me at least 4 hours. I'm a slooooooooow blogger.

It's up now! Including a picture!

Good for you. I wanted to know with the first two, but then I had one of each and wanted to be surprised. DH on the other hand wanted to be prepared, so he won the battle and we found out with all 4.

I have the patience of a 1 year old but I have no choice but to wait the next five months until you give birth! But I am rooting for a baby sister for Margarita. I knew with both my kids but I still ended up buying mostly white-colored clothing. There's just something with babies in white.

Have tons of fun shopping! I'm sure I will enjoy it vicariously through your blog!

stinker! But I'm glad things looked good!

I can not STAND to not know. I admire you who can wait. However, I do think it would make sense to know so that you can buy clothes for "it" when you are in the states....and so I can know, too! ;-)

Glad to see you back at home with blogger. :-)

You are so restrained. I totally would have peeked at the ultrasound.

Congratulations by the way! My mom told me and I am really happy for you!

I knew with all mine, and I only had ultra sound with the last one. *shrug* It will be a baby. It will be cute. It will be loved. That's all that really matters. :O) Do you have names in mind?

Bright One said...

I never wanted to know even when, with the last two, ultrasounds had been invented! : ) I liked the surprise factor. No matter what it is it's not like you're going to send it back or demand a refund! : ) Glad the baby's healthy and has a mind of it's own, that'll be useful someday!

He is right... there aren't many surprises in life... way to go to keep it a secret from yourselves!

BOFF, I tagged you for a meme, no pressure ok?, go here.

Your will power is amazing. Or, at least Guapo's is! Maybe if you pointed out it would be HIS job to return all the clothes you won't be needing?

I love that you don't find out. I agree- this is one of few good suprises! I found out only because the doctor forgot at our 3rd US- and let it slip- I was so mad. LOL. :)
