Good Riddance Guapo

Normally I dread Guapo’s travels-the life of the single-parent is not one I have ever wanted or ever hope to have. I miss him, the kids miss him, bedtime without our normal tag-team strategy is at best a trying situation.

However. When Guapo left to go to the States yesterday I have to admit I was happy. Doing-a-little-dance happy.

Why you ask?

Marital strife?

A desire to practice my patience/coping skills?

The chance to have the bed all to myself?

The opportunity to watch one program on TV, and its associated commercials, without the constant flipping that Guapo so enjoys?

Nope. Here’s why:

Peanut butter, and many, many other things, are in the process of being delivered to Guapo's office. The poor secretary doesn't know what she's in for come Monday morning (think Harry Potter receiving his acceptance letter to Hogwarts). And poor Guapo; when he sees the stack of boxes and has to make everything fit into two suitcases (think 20 clowns coming out of a VW bug) he's probably not going to be a happy camper.

Shhhhhhhh! There may even be a new pair of shoes for me in one of those boxes!

Thursday's going to be like Christmas. I can't wait.

Hi--found you via Millie. I stopped by because I have a special place in my heart for Brazil. I'm not brave enough to live there, but I really want to visit someday.

Wish you the best--and many more boxes of new shoes and peanut butter--on your adventure. I'll be back, I'm sure.

I can totally relate! You should see the angry mob trying to get to a jar of decent peanut butter this side of the world. Comes about a few jars every 6 months!

Can't wait to see those shoes!

Wow! If you get that excited over PB, do you go completely insane for jelly?

I understand- we lived overseas for 4 years, and we had to learn to do without certain things!

My hubby is gone about 15 weeks out of every summer fighting forest firest (well he's a Fire Behavior Analyst now so he's not really fighting them but anyway) I miss him terribly when he's been gone awhile but at first it's time for fun....youngest daughter and I have sleepovers, stay up way past our bedtime and eat cereal for supper! I wouldn't be honest if I didn't say that I look forward to parts of it.....the I'm not really an adult, I don't have to be responsible today, part : )

Enjoy that peanut butter! WHY don't they have it in Brazil!!! Are they CRAZY!!!!
