'Twas the Night Before Stuff

After waiting 2 months and one week, our stuff will be arriving tomorrow morning from Brazil. Remember the one hundred boxes of stuff?

And, just as I predicted, I don't really want the stuff anymore. I don't need the stuff anymore. We're doing just fine without the stuff. I mean, sure, the kids are whining about having no toys, but other than that we're good. I don't really feel like caring for 100 boxes worth of stuff that's just going to clutter up our house and make it even harder for me to keep things nice and tidy.

Oh well. Not like I can refuse delivery, eh?

I have missed one item though. Any ideas on what that might be?

My three-hole punch. I like to organize things into folders and it's been a real bear with my hand-held punch.

Until tomorrow.

It will be a good way to purge- one box at a time- from now until Thanksgiving. Since you haven't missed it- that will give you good enough reason to dispose of it to goodwill or something like that.-

I know how you feel. Our new house is a lot smaller and when the movers came with our stuff I almost cried at the end because it was so frustrating to have to figure out where yet another box was supposed to fit. I am being ruthless as we unpack and getting rid of a lot of clutter now that I see how much room we really do have.

Once the stuff is unpacked, you may enjoy some of it again!
I know you'll have it organized in no time :)

I know how you feel. I'm living with hardly any of our "stuff" and I find that I don't miss much. Not sure what I'm going to do when we get back home and have to deal with it all again!

The other night on the news they talked about a couple who have decided to live minimally. They got rid of most of their stuff and only allowed themselves 100 personal items. I would never go that far (my books alone would put me over the limit) but I do wish I could de-clutter my home and get rid of stuff. This could be a great chance for you to go through things and get rid of even more!

You know how I feel about stuff. With the kids stuff, I would ask your kids what they miss having or have them try to remember what they had and only keep what they remember. :-)

I hope you can get rid of the boxes ASAP!!!!

I just saw you are reading Suite Française. I am reading it too (and I could find it in English) : )

I feel your pain! Although, be careful what you wish for...I wished we could go through and get rid of lots of our stuff.

Then we returned from vacation to a ton of MOLDY STUFF in the garage from humidity, etc...now we've been FORCED to get rid of tons and treat the rest for mold, and my house is a shambles for the nth month in a row. All the pain of moving, without actually moving??!?! Sigh.

Good luck with your stuff! :)
