My boys love it when the other one gets in trouble. If I ask Julio to clean up a mess he made, Juan Carlos will be in my face saying, "I didn't make a mess, I didn't make a mess!" and to further his point, he'll ask for a bottle of Windex to clean the windows.
Saturday Julio whacked Juan Carlos with a book. We confiscated the book and then I sat down with both boys and told them a little story. My graduate professor at BYU had 3 sons; he would tell me how if a toy was used as a weapon it would immediately go into the trash. One of his sons had received a telescope for Christmas and then had used it as a sword to hit one of his brothers. Their dad broke it over his knee and put it in the trash in front of the boys.
After telling Julio and Juan Carlos the story, I asked them what they thought.
Juan Carlos, feeling like he had a leg up on Julio being the victim of the violent book-crime and all, put on his proud voice and showed me the palm of his hand said, "Yeah Mom," like he was in total agreement with me,"When I hit, I just use my hand!!!"

Oh, don't you just love him?! How can you respond to something like that? Where does he get these things? But your boys are really very sweet and if Julio and J.C. are any indication of how Pedro will turn out, you will have years of laughing and smiling
ahead of you!
I'm glad you're blogging regularly now! I missed it!
LOL! Juan Carlos sounds like my Emily.
I like your new blog look :-)
OH I love it! There's these few moments in parenting when you have a great moral story to share and you feel like you've conquered the baffling world of parenting for those few moments and your sweet, young child can blow it all away with one measly sentence.
What a great story! I LOVE IT!
:D LOLing! What a cutey.
Too funny. Aren't boys fun?
Hehehe funny little boys!
I like the new look!
I love it!
I loved you as "cute Gabs."
I love you as "crunchy taco" :)
That is too cute "I just use my hand" That is quick thinking, Juan Carlos. At least, Mom can't throw that away!
Thanks for visiting my delinquent blog. I feel just like you -- I can get nothing done since the baby came. ("All I do is produce milk for Pedro, feed Pedro, rock Pedro to sleep, change Pedro's diaper, change Pedro's clothes, bathe Pedro, make sure Pedro is breathing, etc. etc.") You spoke right to my stressed-out heart!
BTW I love the new picture. Teotihucan, right? How I would love to go back and climb the Piramide del Sol. One day, one day....
LOL at the boys! I love the new look of your blog, except that taco is SO NOT representive of a mexican taco ;) you need to show them what a REAL taco looks like!!
They are always trying to find ways to make a liar out of you, aren't they!
