Clubbing in First Grade

Juan Carlos, my 6 year old 1st grader, was invited to a birthday party Friday night that starts at 8:30 pm. Since the standard length for a birthday party here is 4 hours, we can assume that it will get over at 12:30 am.

His mom just called me to explain why it starts so late-because her daughter wants music and dancing-"you know, like a club".

Ummm, I 'm pretty sure he's busy that night (sleeping), but best of luck with your daughter!

(Do you mean Juan Carlos? Julio is eight, right?)

That is pretty funny. Maybe you should send him--I bet he's got some sweet moves.

Thanks Abs, what would I do without you to keep my kids straight?

Dang! I don't blame you a bit for not going. I don't think I could have even stayed up that late dancing (I am old, I know).

Crazy. I can't even stay up that late. My first grader goes to bed at 8:30 on the weekends. LOL!

I've seen Juan Carlos' moves. He gets them from his uncle. I wouldn't let him go to that party. It's a slippery slope, believe me.

Is it wrong that I think that sounds awesome?

The music and dancing sounds fun...for 14 year olds! I think you've made a wise decision. :-)

This Ozarks farm chick is thinkin' they must start 'em young in Brazil! Here in the hills and hollers of Missouri the first graders are still playing with dolls and Easy Bake ovens. Nope, the only nightlife here a first grader had is his bedtime! Heeeheehe!

Ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day and enjoy the weekend! Maybe crash a kinder' party or two!!!

That's just nutso.

I have to make a phone call today to the mother of my first grader's friend to tell her Audrey can no longer go over to play. She's learned too many Lady Gaga lyrics over there....

Glad your trip back to Brasil went better than any other and, you didn't have to spend the night in Texas on the way.

Thanks again for breakfast at Mimi's. Yummy!

P.S. I'm confused. Was it REALLY your 6 year old invited to the clubbing/dancing party? Too much!
