After living a very long, full life, my great aunt died yesterday; she was my grandpa's brother's wife. She has been the matriarch on my dad's side of the family for many years. She left behind the kind of legacy I hope to achieve in my life: family members that loved her and cared for her until the end and that love and care for each other. I think it would be so much easier to go knowing your family members will take care and be there for each other. She has two daughters, 4 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all of them. On the happy side, she has been a widow since 1986, and I am sure she will have a wonderful reunion with her husband.
It's times like these that makes living so far away really hard. I would really like to go be with my family not only to remember my aunt but also to strengthen family ties with my extended family. :(
I'll miss you Aunt Bruna!

I'm sorry for your loss - but what a wonderful legacy!
It is so hard being so far away...I do know exactly how you feel.
I am here for you if you need anything.
I am sorry for your loss and hope that she is in her new happiness.

I am so sorry for your loss! It has to be hard to be so far away at times like this.
I'm so sorry Gabs.
But I think I know what you are feeling. My Aunt Margaret passed away last week. She, also was a treasure to our family. She was my very favorite Aunt and is the last. Now my parents and all of my aunts and uncles have gone. We will miss her so much, but know that she is happier freed from her little broken body and back with her dear husband. I also wish I could be with the family now. We send our love and prayers their way and yours.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I completely understand what it's like to be far away from the ones we love, I haven't seen my family in 10 years and have had an uncle and a greatgrandmother die without me being there.
Hugs,
Sandra
I am sorry for your loss Gabriela,
It must be hard to be so far away from your extended family,
May God give you and your family the strengthen they will need to mourn such a loss.
I am sure she is at peace now and resting. Blessing, marina
Aunt Bruna looks like a character!
This is the kind of thing that I get the saddest about, thinking that I will be on the other side of the world. (My grandpa died while I was on my mission...)
I'm sorry for your loss. It is so nice to think of her legacy and also that she is with her husband now. Thinking of you...
Times like these are always bittersweet. Sorry for your loss, sounds like she was an amazing woman.
I love the photo of Aunt Bruna! Sorry for your loss. This is the time you most ask yourself, "Whatever were we thinking, moving so far away from everyone?"
So sorry.
What a great photo, Gabriela! Your family knows you are thinking of them. I think she must be so happy to be with her husband again. My grandma is 97 and she's been without Grandpa for more than 30 years.
I'm sorry about your loss, too. She sounds like an amazing woman who will be missed by all of your family.
