Best of Small Town Mexico-The Big Shrimp

You know you are in Paris if you see this:

You know you are in Italy if you see this:

You know you are in NYC if you see this:

And, you know you are in Small Town if you see this:

That's right. A huge shrimp. This is the best-known landmark in Small Town. When you ask for directions they almost always involve the shrimp. As in, "Head towards the shrimp; when you reach it, take a left". Strange.

I have to say though, sometimes when I am driving by it, it is so bizarre to see a huge shrimp water fountain that it some how brightens my day.

Hey, I'm from Paris, Tennessee, and we have one of those in our park! We also fall into the small town category too. Love your blog.

That is so fantastic!! I want a giant shrimp. It's almost like when we were living in Caracas, and there was the ROly-Poly naked family near the mall. Unfortunately they moved the family right before I came down for the summer and we were never able to locate it. But I can atest that the fat naked family was there when I came down for Spring Break.

And it looks pretty real! When we just got here and people keep telling me to make the turn on the "shrimp", I thought they were kidding! Now, I'm like everyone else. My directions always start from the shrimp!

What a funny landmark! So, someone woke up one day and said, "Hmmmm, I think I'm in the mood to build a giant shrimp fountain." Too odd!

The Shrimp is looking especially shiny and clean right now because it is an election year, and no one would want to vote for a party that doesn't have the Shrimp looking sharp. If you know where the Shrimp is you can never get lost. All directions revolve around him.

What a funny fountain!!! That is so odd someone would think of building such a thing. Was the artist's last name "Shrimp"?

LOL! I couldn't figure out what that was at first. Now that is funny. LOL!

That is so Latin of them to have a shrimp as the center of town. Very creative too..... Maybe someday my town will get a shrimp too!
